5 out of 5 stars Got a higher score than 99% of the other people at MEPS!   October 2, 2008

I bought this book about a month ago and started studying about two weeks before the test. I concentrated on the math first then the science part and then the others. I had gotten a 52 on the practice test 2 months ago, got a 77 on the real test! Most of the other people who I talked to and took the test at MEPS with me got lower scores, A lot lower! LOL! I could have gotten a higher score if I had studied and practiced the book more but I was too lazy. Worth every penny I paid, so I HIGHLY recommended it to everyone who wants to join the military, I joined the Air Force. BTW make sure your familiar with MEPS, the people who do the medical examination on you, all I have to say is that those people are horrible!!!

Before taking the ASVAB I wasn't really sure what to expect. The online practice tests are nice but are usually outdated. This product was bought for me as a gift and I was very pleased with it. The book will first have you do a practice test to let you know how you do in each subtest. After this diagnostic test you will go through each topic and learn how to attack questions and what to expect on the ASVAB. Obviously this guide cant help you achieve the score your aiming for without you dedicating some time to actually study and do things properly. The ASVAB is easy, if you passed high school you can pass it. This guide to the ASVAB is great for people who are not sure what to expect or for those who would like to shore up on the topics and have confidence when taking the actual test. The Kaplan guide helped me achieve an 88 on the ASVAB.

5 out of 5 stars Buy this book and Ace the ASVAB!!   January 9, 2009

I am joining the Army, and applying to Officer Candidate School. That being said, having a high AFQT score, as well as having high line scores are extremely important.

I bought this book and the Barrons How to Prepare for the ASVAB: Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery preparation book. I read each one fully through, and took all of the preparation tests.

The day I went to MEPS was absolutely horrible, too long of a story to get into here, but when I walked out from MEPS five hours later, I scored a 90 AFQT, and all my line scores were above 118. I am more than sure that I would not have been as successful without the help of these books.

I am sure I could have done better if my day wasn't as crazy, but against all odds, I was still in the top 10%. As you all will be too!

I highly recommend buying this book and studying. You won't regret it!

I ended up getting a 70 on my QAFT, and a 67 in electronics. Do not study this book too hard, but study from various books to get a breath of knowledge.

The ASVAB is easy, just gotta find reliable information. Like I said, this book helps a bit.
