Outstanding Study Tool for PANCE/PANRE July 20, 2008 Tamar M. Dragon (Saint Petersburg, Florida) 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
There are one or two books that EVERYONE recommends when you are studying for the PANCE/PANRE...well now there should be three! This book is an excellent study guide and mind training tool that will ultimately help you to select the correct answer based on critical thinking. I appreciated the "you should know" tidbits which are in a clear and simple format that help you to understand the physiology/pathology of WHY certain choices are correct. I especially enjoyed the Essentials section which has questions that have more that one correct answer which will really help to enhance your analytical thinking skills.
Great review for the PANCE, rotations and while in practice July 10, 2008 Christopher Lancaster (Coral Springs, FL) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
There are many study guides/review books for the PANCE and PANRE. I should know as I own my fair share of them. However, this is the first one that I have purchased that not only presents information that you need to know but does it in a way that makes you think critically and analytically. It has helped me increase my ability to formulate a differential diagnosis, identify appropriate treatment options and plan accordingly. Finally I have found one great resource to help me study for the PANCE, on my clinical rotations and to help improve my knowledge base of essential clinical medicine.
Pance/Panre must have! July 29, 2008 Cindy B. (Miami, FL) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have found this book to be completely invaluable. Like most, I have a number of review books. It is such a relief to find 1 I feel confident about and 1 that seems to "bring it all together". AND, to do it in a way that is still educational/informative for the real world AS WELL as the exam! This book is a MUST HAVE!!
Absolutely GREAT review for PANCE exam!!! May 15, 2009 Kellie Longenecker (Naples, FL) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I had a difficult time passing the exam the first two times. I decided to try a different approach for the third time of taking the PANCE. I went to two different conferences, studied a couple of books, listened to all of the Emory CD lectures, and I ended my studies with this PA review book by Dr. Diamond. I actually saw him lecture last year at a FAPA conference, and he is wonderful as a teacher! I found his email address, and just figured I would email him about a week before my test just to ask him for some advice and tips. He actually responded! I was so excited when he responded because that showed me that he truly did care about me and passing this exam. He kept responding to my email, and he was actually the first person to congratulate me on passing my exam, the day before I took it! I did pass my PANCE the third time around, thanks to Dr. Diamond and the confidence he gave me! The CD in the back of the book helped me SO much because the way the questions are asked is the exact way the questions are asked on the PANCE. Dr. Diamond's book should be the first book to buy before buying ANY book to study for the PANCE! I will always remember what he has done for me! :) So please, if you have any questions, you can ask me, or ask Dr. Diamond himself and he will help you through these hard exams! :)
Nice way to review a field after retrement September 19, 2008 Bookiness 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this for my mom who retired as a nurse years
ago, but is still very interested in the field. She
is using this book to get a concise view of the training
received by PA's that she's encountering more and more
frequently.
She greatly appreciates the survey and question format.
